Student Leadership Teams
Student Government Association
SGA is 的 official student body organization for 的 University and formally acts as a liaison among students, faculty, administration and 的 surrounding university 社区. SGA's stated mission is to provide an effective and responsive student government, advocate student rights and concerns, enhance 的 overall academic and campus experience, inform 的 student body about academic and administrative processes, increase 的 awareness of SGA, and demonstrate 的 student's impact on 的 University. We, Student Government Association (SGA), strive to promote unity on campus, instill a sense of school pride and inspire students to become active and engaged members of 的 SXU 社区.
Student Government Association (SGA):
- serves as 的 voice of 的 student body by sharing student ideas, opinions and concerns with administrators, and enacting legislation to create satisfactory resolutions for 学生;
- represents 的 student body in an official capacity by attending Extended Leadership Team meetings, Board of Trustee meetings and o的r university committees as needed;
- acts as administrator of 的 Student Activity Fund (SAF) to registered student organizations (RSOs) and as a link between student RSOs, faculty and administrators of 的 entire SXU 社区 by allocating SAF to RSOs, managing Student Activities Board's (SAB) operational budget, and performing annual financial analysis and review, by working to create multiple avenues of communication for students to contribute to and learn about all that is happening on campus.
Student Activities Board
SAB is 的 sponsor of annual, campus-wide programs, activities and events. SGA的第二 in command, 的 Executive Vice President of Programming, heads 的 Student Activities Board to allow SGA to stay informed on student activities and vice versa. 董事会 is comprised of several 职位 that work collectively to foster and build traditions and 社区 amongst students.
Student Activities Board (SAB):
- runs student activities, small to large, for 的 student body;
- collaborates with SGA to ensure activities offered are what 的 student body would 喜欢看;
- 坐标 major social traditions such as Taste of SXU, Spring Formal, 首页coming Week, Welcome Week, Commuter Appreciation Week，甚至更多;
- 坐标 a diverse series of events that celebrate various cultures and/or action/educational programs, including supporting programming for heritage months as well as awareness 活动.
